Bridging Education and Creativity: Dr Cheung Yuen Man’s Dual Role as Educator and Author

Research & Scholarly Activities

Dr Cheung Yuen Man (YM) is an experienced Language Instructor at the University, having served the Chinese Language Centre (CLC) for over 25 years. Her dedication to language education is matched by her prominence in Hong Kong’s literary scene.

Beyond her role in CLC, YM is a renowned author whose works have resonated deeply with readers. Her notable publications include The Daily of Dusts (《微塵記》), Those Were the Cats (《那些貓們》), The Story of Campus Cat (《你在—校園貓的故事》), and The Uneven Treetops (《參差杪》). She was honoured with the Hong Kong Biennial Awards for Chinese Literature in both 2019 and 2021.

YM served as the writer-in-residence for the Chinese Department at The Education University of Hong Kong last year. Her latest work, Farewell and Together (《有心人》), published in April, is a collection of short fictions paying tribute to the iconic Hong Kong superstar Leslie Cheung (張國榮). The book has garnered widespread acclaim from critics and readers alike. She is also eager to share some cherished highlights from her recent reader sharing session, which include the following memorable moments:
