Students enrolled in a departmental scheme/stand-alone programme (refer to as “scheme/programme” hereafter) who decided to remain in their current scheme/programme may take the following actions to determine their study options after completing the Faculty Common First-Year Curriculum (FCFC).
  • Choose a Major (mandatory for and exclusive to students in departmental schemes).
  • Choose a Secondary Major (which may be mandatory or optional, depending on the confirmed Major). 
  • Choose a Minor (optional).
  • Join a Fast-track Programme (optional).

 

Students enrolled in the schemes/programmes are expected to have specific academic goals when choosing these schemes/programmes. During your first year of study, you have the option to:

  • Remain in your current scheme/programme (read this page); or

If your study scheme/programme type is not included here, please refer to the Scheme/Programme Overview for more information.

 

  • All students within a Faculty follow a common first-year curriculum, regardless of their specific schemes/programmes.
  • It provides a broad foundation of knowledge.
  • It helps students make informed decisions about their future Major.
  • You are encouraged to seek guidance from your Academic Advisor when choosing a Major or exploring additional study options.
