Dr. LUO Yanchen is currently a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (DSAI) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Prior to this appointment, he received his PhD from the School of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), where he was advised by Prof. Xiangnan He and Prof. Xiang Wang, and earned his BSc from USTC’s School of the Gifted Young. During his doctoral training, he worked as a research intern at the National University of Singapore. His research interests center on AI4Science, Agent4Science, and AI safety for scientific discovery, with a particular focus on foundation and generative models for molecules and proteins, autonomous scientific agents for hypothesis generation and experiment planning, and robust, uncertainty-aware deployment of scientific AI systems. He has published in leading venues such as NeurIPS, ICLR, and actively serves the community as a reviewer for major conferences and journals.
