Aims and Characteristics
Programme Aims
This programme addresses the rapid growth and adoption of generative AI technologies, such as large language models and AI agents, as well as the corresponding demand for specialised postgraduate training. The objectives of the programme are listed below:
To equip students with in-depth knowledge of modern generative AI models (such as large language models, diffusion and multimodal models), their mathematical and computational foundations, and hands-on skills in building, fine-tuning and deploying such systems using contemporary platforms and tools.
To cultivate interdisciplinary leaders for industry, government and academia, capable of designing and implementing generative AI solutions for key sectors such as finance, logistics, healthcare, education, smart cities and the creative industries, thereby contributing to Hong Kong’s position as an international innovation and technology hub.
Characteristics
This programme emphasises the practical development of generative AI systems and autonomous intelligence, focusing not only on individual models but also on their integration into coordinated platforms such as multi‑agent systems, AIoT, and embodied intelligence, thereby aligning with industry needs for professionals capable of delivering end‑to‑end generative AI solutions.
