Personally and on behalf of the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Hong Kong I would like to extend our warmest congratulations on the occasion of the 80th Anniversary of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
During my three years in Hong Kong, it has been my sincere pleasure to witness PolyU’s dedication and commitment to educate students on a continuously high level of academic excellence. I am especially delighted by the fact that PolyU has responded to the task of being a diverse institution. Pursuing its vision to excel in professional education, applied research and partnership for the betterment of Hong Kong, the PolyU keeps broadening its academic horizon, having established thriving and fruitful collaborations with German universities and organisations, as well as actively participating in the Germany/Hong Kong Joint Research Scheme. Most recently the PolyU organized a seminar in cooperation with the renowned German Fraunhofer Institute, the leading and the largest organization for applied research in Europe, to promote German Research and Innovation, as well as to strengthen the mutual collaboration between Germany and Hong Kong. I sincerely hope that these avenues for academic exchange can be further explored in the future.
