President’s Dialogue with Alumni

2022 is a special year for the University as it marks our 85th Anniversary. President Professor Jin-Guang Teng met with the alumni to share the latest development and celebratory activities of the University, and exchanged views and suggestions. Two sessions of “President’s Dialogue with Alumni” were held on 16 and 21 February 2022, attracting 150 alumni from all over the world to interact with the President online. The activities were joined by other members of the Central Management Team including Dr Miranda Lou, Executive Vice President and Professor Christopher Chao, Vice President (Research and Innovation).  President Teng was very delighted to greet and meet with the alumni at the beginning of the Year of the Tiger. During his presentation, he talked about the strategic goals and plan of the University, the recent achievements and developments in education and research, as well as the campus expansion and PolyU Foshan projects.  Dr Lou introduced the year-long series of celebratory events and the 85th Anniversary theme song. She encouraged alumni to come back to their alma mater to join the homecoming activities, and offer their support to our 85th Anniversary celebrations.  The cordial dialogues with President Teng were filled with warmness and lively interactions, during which the alumni had brought up many insightful ideas towards diverse topics, such as PolyU’s development in the Mainland, research collaborations and applications, programme development, student development, as well as alumni connection. Some alumni leaders had shared the recent work of their associations and expressed keen wish for more exchange with the President in the near future.
