Summary

Myopia is prevalent among schoolchildren in Hong Kong, and the situation has become more severe recently due to the impact of online classes. Once a child develops myopia, the degree of myopia may increase with age. When the degree of myopia or the axial length of the eye reaches a high level, it increases the risk of eye diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, and myopic macular degeneration. Therefore, controlling myopia is urgent.

With the advancement of modern technology, clinical studies have confirmed that myopia can be effectively controlled through specific glasses and contact lenses, orthokeratology, eye drops, and other methods. This lecture will introduce methods for preventing and controlling myopia.
