我畢業於加州大學伯克利分校歷史系。

我的第一個項目研究了鄭氏家族及其在十七世紀亞洲海上貿易中所扮演的獨特角色,尤其是鄭氏雖然透過連繫不同貿易夥伴取得了可觀的利潤,卻同時要在明清轉折的博弈中爭取其組織的合法性。

我現在致力研究十七至二十一世紀東南亞的華人社區。我希望瞭解它們的組織與制度、其建與不同國家及非國家政體的合作和鬥爭、以及這些元素如何促進近代民族主義在中國興起。
