BEng (Hons) Scheme in Civil Engineering & Sustainable Development, Year 1;
Recipient of CEE Entry Scholarship 2023/24 – HK$60,000

I am glad that CEE nominated me for the CEE Entry Scholarship for outstanding HKDSE Students. It recognises the effort I have put into HKDSE and motivates me in my upcoming studies, which I am excited about.

I chose to pursue Civil and Environmental Engineering because it represents the very foundation of our cities—the structures that provide shelter and support to our lives. The idea of contributing to building such essential structures fills me with a deep sense of purpose and empowerment. Thinking that I will be responsible of what I build and can proudly claim the responsibility for its existence fills me excitement about the learning journey in the future. Since getting into university, I have experienced more freedom. While the flexible lecture schedule allows me more independence, it also means taking on the responsibility of managing tasks like subject registration and submitting assignments without reminders. This transition has made me realise that I am growing up. To adapt to university life, I have started setting tasks in my calendar, becoming more organised with each passing day. I find calmness in the university library, where I can immerse myself in learning and make progress on my tasks.

Additionally, I have joined the PolyU robotics team, building upon my passion for robotics that began in secondary school. Although I am now still a junior member, I am striving to become an official team member and participate in the robocon competition. Overall, I am enjoying my university life.
