On September 27, 2024, Prof. David Shum, Dean of Faculty of Health and Social Sciences (FHSS), warmly welcomed six outstanding students who have been awarded scholarships (國家衞生健康高端人才獎學金項目) under the National Health Commission’s programme, supported by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust and the Institute of Philanthropy. This initiative is vital for cultivating health professionals in clinical services and health management, thereby enhancing the capabilities of leading medical and healthcare experts. By prioritising skill development and advanced training, the programme aims to equip these professionals with the knowledge needed to tackle the evolving challenges within the healthcare sector.
Among the scholarship recipients, Mr Chen Yihao and Mr Huang Guohang are pursuing the Faculty-run Doctor of Health Science (DHSc), while Ms Jingxue Chen, Ms Huijun Guo, Ms Mingsui Li and Ms Yilin Zhao have enrolled in the Master of Arts in Social Policy and Social Development (MASPSD) at the Department of Applied Social Sciences. These scholarship recipients are exceptionally talented individuals, selected through a rigorous evaluation process that underscores their academic excellence and potential for impactful contributions in their fields.
