The Undergraduate Student Research Competition aims to showcase undergraduate students' theoretical knowledge and research skills and to extend the frontier of their knowledge in hospitality, tourism, events and other related fields.
The awardees will be invited to attend and present their work at the IMPACT2025 Conference, which will be held at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University on 7-9 December
2025.
Eligibility
Current undergraduate students at universities with hospitality and tourism programmes worldwide or recent graduates (within one year of graduation) who hold undergraduate degrees from these universities are qualified to enter this competition. Although faculty supervision of the research is acceptable, the student must be the first author.
Awards
- Best Paper Award (one paper)*: A travel scholarship worth up to HK$10,000, plus a complimentary conference registration, will be awarded to defray the costs of travel to Hong Kong and related expenses for attending the paper presentation at the IMPACT2025 Conference.
- First Runner-up Award (two papers)*: A travel scholarship worth up to HK$5,000, plus a complimentary conference registration, will be awarded to defray the costs of travel to Hong Kong and related expenses for attending the paper presentation at the IMPACT2025 Conference.
* The selection
committee reserves the right to select fewer than one Best Paper and two First Runner-up awardees, depending on the quality of submissions. All prizes will be exclusively awarded to students.
Submission Requirements
All submissions should be in English and formatted according to APA guidelines. Each submission should be a full paper (4,000 (±500) words) that presents a completed piece of research, including a title, abstract, keywords, figures, tables, and
references.
