The SHTM's
MicroMasters in International Hospitality Management, a unique and highly successful Master's programme offered on the world-renowned edX online learning platform, continues to attract learners from around the world. The programme enables students to learn through a blend of strategic
perspectives and pragmatic implementation, problem identification and decision-making supported by interdisciplinary theory and management applications.
The hugely popular online programme covers four key areas of management in the hospitality and tourism industry: managing human resources, managing marketing, managing innovation and technology, and luxury management.

The MicroMasters programme, the first of its kind, is a
credit-bearing credential that provides a pathway to the SHTM's flagship programmes: the 100% online
MSc in Hospitality Business Innovation, the on-campus
MSc in International Hospitality Management,
MSc in International Tourism and Convention Management and the MSc in International Wine Management.
In addition, the SHTM has been engaging in educational collaborations to provide quality online programmes on international and domestic platforms, which will enable the MicroMasters programme to be available to an even wider audience. For example, starting from 2023, the School will offer the course "Innovation and Technology Management in Tourism and Hospitality" on the UNWTO Tourism Online Academy (TOA) and on XuetangX, a MOOC platform established by Tsinghua University. These collaborations aim to help hospitality and tourism managers on the Chinese mainland and worldwide build close partnerships and exploit their complementary areas of expertise to gain knowledge of strategic ICT applications, thereby enhancing their capabilities in the digital age.
