SHTM Hosts First APacCHRIE & EuroCHRIE Joint Conference

More than 750 delegates from 42 countries and regions from around the world gathered in Hong Kong to attend the inaugural APacCHRIE & EuroCHRIE Joint Conference cum 4th Global Tourism and Hospitality Conference hosted by the SHTM and co-organised by APacCHRIE and EuroCHRIE on 22-25 May 2019.

Themed "East Meets West in Hospitality and Tourism Education", the Conference took place in the very heart of where East does indeed meet West – Hong Kong, a dynamic and vibrant city connecting the world.
Industry Heavyweight Featured in D.HTM Distinguished Lecture Series

For more than a decade, the groundbreaking Doctor of Hotel and Tourism Management (D.HTM) programme has been a key part of the SHTM's efforts to nurture links between academia and the industry.
MicroMasters in International Hospitality Management – Summer Run

Taking its place at the leading edge of hospitality and tourism education delivered on a truly global scale, the SHTM's MicroMasters in International Hospitality Management (MM) is moving ahead in leaps and bounds.
Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE) Workshop 2019

On behalf of the SHTM and the American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute, Dr Fred Mayo will deliver a Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE) Workshop on the School's premises from 9 to 12 July 2019.
The 2nd "One Belt • One Road • One Tourism" International Conference

Hosted by the Belt and Road International School at Guilin Tourism University (GLTU) and the Guangxi Academy of Tourism Professionals, and co-organised by the SHTM and GLTU in collaboration with the Silk Road International University of Tourism, Uzbekistan and Palembang Tourism Polytechnic, Indonesia, the 2nd "One Belt • One Road • One Tourism" International Conference will take place in Guilin, China on 13-15 October 2019.

Dr Daniel Leung and Ms Sarah Pyo, Year-4 student in the BSc in Tourism Management programme received the Best Paper Award for their co-authored paper entitled "Factors Affecting Hotel Guests' Likelihood of Online Review Contribution: An Experimental Study" at the APacCHRIE & EuroCHRIE Joint Youth Conference in Hong Kong on 23-24 May 2019.

18 April - US Consulate General Hong Kong & Macau, Hong Kong

Mr Kurt Tong, Consul General, US Consulate General Hong Kong & Macau, Mrs Tong and Ms Alicia Hernandez, Director, US Agricultural Trade Office in Hong Kong and Macau, visited the School. They enjoyed a US-themed dinner made with American ingredients at Bistro 1979.

Professor Haiyan Song, Professor Cathy Hsu and Ph.D. students Mr Richard Hrankai, Ms Ekaterina Volchek and Mr Jerry Zheng attended the Travel and Tourism Research Association's 2019 European Chapter Conference in Bournemouth, UK on 8-10 April.
