The SHTM and the Dujiangyan city government recently signed a strategic agreement to collaborate in the areas of knowledge transfer, tourism planning, tourism marketing, executive development, and leadership and co-ordination to support the city as it develops smart attraction management.
Held in Dujiangyan on 23 February 2018, the signing ceremony was presided over by Professor Haiyan Song, SHTM Associate Dean and Mr and Mrs Chan
Chak Fu Professor in International Tourism, and Mr Ming Yuan, Deputy Mayor of Dujiangyan. Witnessing the signing was Mr Sheng Lu, Party Chairman of Dujiangyan, and in attendance were Mr Xiaofeng Tang, Member of the Dujiangyan Standing Committee and Chief of Publicity, Dr Fuhua Song, Founder and CEO of Zhejiang Drore Technology Co Ltd, Dr Tony Tse, SHTM Professor of Practice (Industry Partnerships), and other local dignitaries.
In keeping with the two parties' common interests in
advancing tourism development in Dujiangyan, the SHTM is working with the city government and Zhejiang Drore Technology to establish knowledge transfer in attraction management. As part of the strategic agreement, the School will provide the city government with a consultancy service and advise it on international marketing. The two parties will also work together in the areas of research, executive education and industry attachment programmes in support of talent development and industry
advancement.
The SHTM is grateful that the Dujiangyan city government looked to it as part of an effort to adapt to an ever-changing international environment. The signing of the strategic agreement also reaffirms the industry's support for the School. We look forward to working closely with our counterparts in the Dujiangyan city government over the years to come.
