Students must complete 52 credits to earn a Doctor of Hotel and Tourism Management (D.HTM) degree. The programme consists of ten subjects totalling 28 credits and a 24-credit thesis or research publications.
The curriculum includes one Residential Workshop, one Academic Integrity and Ethics (AIE) subject, five compulsory subjects, and four elective subjects. Except residential workshop and AIE subject, each subject carries a standard weight of three credits. The thesis comprises two parts: a proposal and the formal thesis. Alternatively, students may choose to focus on research publications.
Additionally, the programme features two compulsory residential schools. The first takes place at the beginning of the D.HTM program to facilitate introductions among students, faculty, and the curriculum. The second involves an overseas study tour as part of the Asian Paradigm in Hospitality Management.
