Biography
Daisy Xuefeng Fan is an Associate Professor in School of Hotel and Tourism Management, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, specialising in tourist behaviour, social contact, active ageing and social sustainability. She worked in Bournemouth University, UK and City University of Macau before Hong Kong, and gained hospitality industry experience prior to her academic career. Her works were published in high impact journals, including Tourism Management, Journal of Travel Research, Annals of Tourism Research, International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, International Journal of Hospitality Management and Journal of Business Research. She also led and participated in various projects funded by prestigious external funders, such as British Academy and British Council. She won the Best Paper of the Year awarded by Journal of Hospitality & Tourism Research 2019, the Thea Sinclair Award for Journal Article Excellence 2020, Best Paper Award by Tourism Tribune 2021 and Research Excellence in Culture and Tourism awarded by China Tourism Academy, 2021. She received Emerging Scholar of Distinction Award by International Academy for the Study of Tourism, 2024. Daisy is an Associate Editor for Tourism Review and the Managing Editor of the Journal of Quality Assurance in Hospitality & Tourism.
