A delegation led by Mr. LU Guihua, Member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), visited The Hong Kong Polytechnic University on 14 January 2026. The delegation was warmly received by Prof. SHI Wenzhong, John, Director of the Otto Poon Charitable Foundation Smart Cities Research Institute (SCRI).
During the visit, the delegation toured the University’s facilities and was introduced to PolyU’s academic achievements and research innovations. The delegation then visited SCRI, where in-depth discussions focused on smart city development, with particular emphasis on the intelligent and digital transformation of water resources and hydraulic engineering.
The visit concluded with a fruitful exchange of ideas, fostering mutual understanding and exploring potential opportunities for future collaboration.
