Banking Graduate Trainee Programme 2022

Background
The Banking Graduate Trainee Programme (BGTP), launched by Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) and the banking industry are offering entry-level positions in three business / function streams. Targeting Hong Kong residents graduating with a bachelor’s degree or above from universities in or outside Hong Kong, BGTP offers them a twelve-month work opportunity and industry-specific training. 

 

Job opportunities
Around 30 participating banks will offer nearly 100 entry-level positions related to (i) FinTech, (ii) Green and Sustainable Finance, and (iii) the Guangdong-Hong Kong- Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) business for graduate trainees’ long-term professional development.

 

Professional training
The graduate trainees may participate in the B.E.S.T. Certificate Programme provided by the Hong Kong Institute of Bankers (HKIB) and a series of specialized training seminars will be organized by the HKMA. Participating banks will offer in-house training for trainees accordingly.

 

Programme period
The Programme of this year will generally start from 1 September 2022 and last for a period of twelve months.


Salary

The participating banks will provide a monthly salary to each programme participant based on market terms.


Eligibility

Final-year students graduating with a bachelor’s degree or above in 2022 are eligible. The disciplines preferred will depend on the work nature of specific jobs and the need of participating bank.

 

Upcoming Training Workshops/Nomination Services for Banking Graduate Trainee Applicants:   
Students are welcome to directly apply to the banks. Meanwhile, CPS, SAO is working on potential nominations. Interested candidates may complete the Nomination Application Form and indicate your Top 5 preferred banks by Sunday, 29 May.

The nomination arrangement is NOT guaranteed and is subject to individual banks’ decision.
