LASSI

LASSI stands for The Learning and Study Strategies Inventory. It is designed to give you ideas of your strengths and weaknesses in studying, and assess your learning strategies and study skills. This is particularly suitable for students who had some learning difficulties and needed to improve their academic performance.

The LASSI is a 10-scale, 60-item assessment of students' awareness about and use of learning and study strategies related to the following components of Strategic Learning:

  1. Anxiety
  2. Attitude
  3. Concentration
  4. Information Processing
  5. Motivation
  6. Selecting Main Ideas
  7. Self-testing
  8. Test Strategies
  9. Time Management
  10. Using Academic Resources

For students who join LES, you will be granted the right to take the LASSI online. Upon completion, you will receive the assessment report via PolyU connect email, and your Academic Advising Officer will get in touch with you for a meeting to interpret your LASSI report. In the meeting, the Academic Advising Officer will also help you identify learning issues, and discuss study skills and study plan with you.
