Biography
Prof. WONG Chi Ming is an Associate Professor at the Department of Health Technology and Informatics, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). He obtained his PhD Degree in Cardiovascular at The University of Hong Kong.
Prof. Wong has contributed to the research on the molecular and metabolic mechanisms underlying ageing and age-related diseases. His research foci have spanned on oxidative stress, genomic stability, metabolic regulation, tendon stem cell aging, and epigenetic control in chronic metabolic conditions. His work has been published in top-tier journals including but not limited to Molecular Therapy, Theranostics and Scientific Reports. Prof. Wong also leads projects which focus on the fundamental science and the development of practical interventions for late-life health, he had secured competitive grants such as National Natural Science Foundation of China, General Research Fund (GRF) and Health and Medical Research Fund (HMRF).
Prof. Wong believes that ageing uniquely intersects biology, technology, social sciences and policy, which demands integrated efforts to translate research achievement into real-world solutions. Thus, by joining RISA, he strives to establish essential collaboration with members from engineering, health sciences, informatics and social science for driving impactful, scalable smart health innovation, gerontechnology and community-based solutions.
