Biography

Prof. CAI Yin, David is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Health Technology and Informatics, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). He obtained his PhD Degree in Cardiovascular and Metabolic diseases at The University of Hong Kong in 2014.

Prof. Cai has the research expertise of cardiovascular disorders and precision therapeutics. His research focuses on exploring molecular mechanisms underlying cardiac senescence and metabolic dysregulation in ageing hearts. His works related to ageing heart have been published on international journals including Theranostics and Military Medical Research. As a Principal Investigator (PI), Prof. Cai has also led projects on cardiac ageing and secured grants from various funders such as General Research Fund, Nature Science Foundation of Guangdong Province, Sun Chieh Yeh Heart Foundation Research Grant and PolyU start-up fund. His commitment has earned local and international recognition including receiving the prestigious Young Scientist Award for ASPET Annual Meeting at Experimental Biology 2020.

By joining RISA, Prof. Cai aims to contribute his expertise in cardiovascular disorders and research to develop innovations which address age-related health disparities through interdisciplinary collaboration.
