Biography

Dr Quanxiang XIAN is currently a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU BME). She received her Ph.D. degree from the PolyU BME in 2021. From 2021 to 2024, she served as a postdoctoral fellow at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Dr Xian is dedicated to conducting a comprehensive study of ultrasound neuromodulation mechanisms and advancing the possibilities for clinical applications of ultrasound stimulation.

Dr Xian has served as the first author and co-first author of publications in prestigious journals including PNAS, Advanced Science, and Cell Reports. Additionally, her works have received recognition at major international conferences by being selected for oral presentations, earned multiple Best Presentation awards including at the 11th WACBE World Congress on Bioengineering 2024, the 1st Asia-Pacific Neuroscience Student Congress, the HKSAN 2nd Annual Conference 2021 and the 2nd FUN Symposium 2021.

By joining RISA, Dr Xian is committed to advancing research on age-related neurological disorders using ultrasound neuromodulation such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases. Besides, she aims to develop and assess effective ultrasound interventions which foster brain health.
