Prof. Alan Lau and his team have researched advanced real-time signal quality estimation for better optimisation of network traffic without loss of reliability. Adopted by a global cloud provider, the research outcomes have enhanced the network stability and operational efficiency to support more flexible management of dynamic traffic.

The technology has served millions of corporate clients, including around 190 Fortune Global 500 companies, and benefited billions of end users worldwide. The application has also been extended to cloud infrastructure at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games to support massive viewership and strong digital engagement.
