A delegation led by Mr Li Chenhao, Secretary of the CPC Baoshan District Committee visited The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) on 8 May to strengthen collaboration between Shanghai and Hong Kong in technological innovation and industrial development. The visit focused on exploring opportunities for partnership and driving the commercialisation of research achievements.
The delegation first visited the PolyU Research Centre for Deep Space Exploration, gaining insights into the University’s contributions to major national space missions and its applied research expertise. This was followed by an exchange meeting, where PolyU representatives presented the University’s latest research strengths and developments, while the Baoshan delegation introduced an overview of the district's innovation ecosystem and industrial landscape.
Prof. Lin Jianguo, Chair Professor of Materials Technologies of the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering of PolyU, together with his team, showcased the latest advancements in advanced smart manufacturing systems, highlighting strong R&D capabilities and commercialisation potential.
By combining PolyU’s research innovation with Baoshan’s industrial strengths, both parties explored new opportunities for deeper collaboration, aiming to drive technological advancement and industrial upgrading in Shanghai and Hong Kong.
