PolyU held the PolyU Research and Innovation Ceremony 2023 on campus to recognise impactful young scholars and foster innovation and creativity in the PolyU community. The ceremony presented awards to the six winners of the PolyU Young Innovative Researcher Award (YIRA) 2023 and 14 winners of the Pixels of PolyU (PoP) Photo Competition. Professor Jin-Guang Teng, President of PolyU congratulated the awardees.
YIRA is a university-level award that pays tribute to young faculty members’ exceptional efforts and passion for scientific research. Since its inception in 2022, YIRA has received exceptional submissions from PolyU researchers under the age of 35, making it a platform for innovators to showcase their talents.
The ceremony also celebrates the creativity and aesthetics of PolyU staff and students. RIO has hosted the Pixels of PolyU Photo Competition this summer to encourage the PolyU community to draw inspiration from various aspects of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics). The competition attracts over 250 photo submissions capturing the STEAM elements on the PolyU campus.
