PolyU delegation visit and collaborative seminar at Alibaba Group Headquarters

The first Alibaba Technology Forum (ATF) in Hong Kong on Big Data and Cloud Computing Technologies was successfully held on 17 June 2016 at PolyU. To further explore the collaborative research opportunities between two sides, PolyU Innovation and Technology Department Office organized a follow-up visit and collaborative seminar at Alibaba Group Hangzhou headquarters on 1st -2nd August 2016. 

PolyU delegation composed of 10 professors from Department of Computing (COMP), Department of Land Surveying and Geo-Informatics (LSGI) and Department of Applied Mathematics (AMA). The delegation was warmly welcomed by Dr Zhou Jingren, Vice President of Alibaba Group, with comprehensive technology discussions among various R&D units at Alibaba group. The topics included large-scale real-time computing and its applications, artificial intelligence, big data & cloud computing platform; optimal path on network with stochastic flow; and navigation & smart city, etc. PolyU delegation also discussed with Alibaba group in the areas of collaborative research models, visiting-scholar program and long-term platform establishment.
