In an era where global outreach is essential for academic institutions to foster collaboration and innovation, PolyU has recently concluded a delegation visit to Portugal, Spain, and Türkiye as part of its ongoing efforts to expand its global presence. Led by Dr Lam Tai-fai, Council Chairman, the delegation included Professor Ben Young, Vice President (Student and Global Affairs), and Mr Gavin Ngai, Deputy Director of Global Engagement.

The trip featured impactful interactions with high schools, Chinese Embassies, and various stakeholders. Through visits to schools, discussions with educational leaders, and student engagements, PolyU demonstrated its commitment to fostering cross-cultural learning opportunities, promoting global educational exchanges, and inspiring the leaders of tomorrow. The delegation also conducted high-level talks at the Chinese Embassies in Portugal and Spain and engaged with SEPIE (Spanish Service for the Internationalization of Education) in Spain to explore future cooperation with Spanish universities.

As an innovative world-class university, PolyU is actively expanding its global network by forging strategic alliances and partnerships with universities and other institutions worldwide. These collaborations enhance exchanges and joint initiatives in learning and teaching, research, and knowledge transfer.

PolyU’s global network encompasses over 360 academic institutions across more than 40 countries and regions. The University has signed more than 600 academic collaboration agreements, covering student exchanges, joint research projects, and other cooperative activities. In the past year alone, 46 new agreements were established with various institutions.
