PolyU recently held Patents Achievement Award Presentation Ceremony cum Seminar on “IP Protection in the AI Era,” celebrating the exceptional contributions of researchers and departments in patent filing and IP commercialisation. The event highlighted PolyU’s commitment to fostering a strong intellectual property (IP) culture and translating research into impactful solutions for industry and society. Prof. Christopher Chao, Senior Vice President (Research and Innovation) of PolyU and Director of PReCIT, shared in an interview with Headline Daily that the University’s IP policy aligns closely with the Government’s goal of developing Hong Kong into a regional IP trading centre. PolyU supports faculty and students in protecting IP, transforming innovative inventions into practical impact through patent applications and commercialisation, and continuously enhancing the effectiveness of knowledge transfer.
