Cindy joined the Office of Service-Learning (which has renamed as Service-Learning and Leadership Office) in September 2012 - the first year of its establishment. She develops service-learning handbooks and risk management guidelines, coordinates academic service-learning projects in Vietnam, and helps to solicit and manages several external-funded projects. Cindy works closely with faculty members in planning, executing, and assessing service-learning projects. She also trains and coaches students in local and non-local student projects, international exchange, and leadership development programmes.

Cindy is currently a Doctor of Education candidate at the University of Hong Kong, and her doctoral thesis is about transformative learning in international service-learning. She involves in a few research projects in the office. Her research interests are service-learning, student development, community impact, and youth leadership. 

Cindy received her M.Phil. and B.A. in Chinese Language and Literature at the Hong Kong Baptist University and the Chinese University of Hong Kong, respectively. She earned an M.A. in International and Comparative Legal Studies in the School of Oriental and African Studies (U. K.).

Before joining the office, she was a Chinese Language teacher in secondary schools. She also worked in the Leadership Qualities Center at Hong Kong Baptist University, where she developed and managed service leadership programmes and some other co-curricular activities for students.

Cindy devotes herself to education. She believes in experiential learning because it has greatly impacted her personally and professionally. She enjoys working in higher education, service-learning and student development.
