Ms. Jessie Kar joined the Office of Service-Learning (subsequently renamed Service-Learning and Leadership Office, SLLO) in 2011. Her first project was to develop e-learning modules for students and teachers. She now works closely with faculty members in planning, executing, and assessing large-scale local and off-shore STEM service-learning projects. She is also responsible for coordinating the Service-Learning Scholarship Scheme to train and coach student leaders to support SL subjects or organise service projects. Jessie also actively participates in the publicity team, including publishing SLLO newsletters, annual reports and booklets, and organising photo exhibitions to promote SL.

Before joining the office, she worked as a Project Manager in the Institute of Textiles and Clothing to solicit and manage the research projects under the supervision of Prof. Jintu Fan. She obtained her M.Phil. and B.A. in Textiles and Clothing at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
