The Laboratory for Soft and Smart Manufacturing (SSM 智能軟製造實驗室) joins biotechnology, energy technology, information technology, and micro-/nanotechnology to develop and provide tools/solutions to address multiple challenges. The Laboratory centers its research on:

1. microfluidics-enabled soft and smart manufacturing of micro and nanostructures,
2. fundamental tools including particles, fibers, and coatings, and
3. needed path-breaking technologies for effectively addressing grand challenges like energy, environment, water, air, food, and disease.
