After more than ten years in the healthcare logistics industry, I chose to pursue the MSc in Global Supply Chain Management (GCSM) at PolyU to sharpen my skills and stay ahead in a rapidly evolving field. The programme offered a well-balanced blend of academic theory and real-world application, which was directly relevant to my career goals.

Throughout the programme, I gained valuable insights into the latest technologies that are reshaping the logistics industry, as well as practical knowledge for managing logistics operations more effectively. The programme also deepened my expertise in procurement and supply chain management, and helped me fulfil the requirements for MCIPS certification—a key enhancement of my professional qualifications.

One of the most impactful elements was the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt training in quality management. This equipped me with practical tools to implement lean practices, identify the root causes of inefficiencies, and lead initiatives that drive operational excellence.

Overall, the programme has been instrumental in preparing me for senior leadership roles. It’s broadened my strategic thinking, deepened my industry knowledge, and empowered me to lead more effectively. I’m proud to be a graduate of this programme and would highly recommend it to professionals looking to advance their careers in the logistics and supply chain management industry.

This simple statement challenged me to reflect on what it truly means to study at this level. For me, it came to represent a mindset—one defined by enthusiasm for independent exploration, the ability to carry out in-depth research, and a strong sense of teamwork. And that’s exactly the kind of growth that I experienced throughout the GSCM programme.

The learning experience in GSCM was both rich and well-rounded. In class, we received intensive instruction that helped us build a solid academic foundation. Outside the classroom, our professors organised field trips and company visits, allowing us to connect theory with real-world practice. The variety of assessment methods also helped strengthen our problem solving and teamwork skills.

What stood out most was the professors' open-minded and inclusive attitude, along with their targeted guidance. The school's extensive academic resources, including access to a wide range of databases, were also invaluable when preparing reports and conducting research.

After a year in the GSCM programme, I’ve not only gained a comprehensive understanding of supply chain management, but also developed the ability to identify and solve complex problems, as well as the confidence to express my ideas. These skills have given me a strong foundation for my future career development.
