Biography

Xiaoyu Wang is an assistant professor at Department of Logistics and Maritime Studies, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Xiaoyu received his B.S. in finance from Guanghua School of Management, Peking University in 2015, M.S. in operations research from UNC at Chapel Hill in 2017, and Ph.D. in operations management from Olin Business School, Washington University in St. Louis in 2023.

Xiaoyu’s research focuses on emerging operations topics in the contexts of supply chains and digital platforms. Specifically, on the firm side, he investigates innovation challenges such as FinTech/Blockchain as well as sustainability/social responsibility faced by firms and provide recommendations for businesses; on the consumer side, he studies consumer behavior in the digital economy where consumers are exposed to new concerns such as data privacy issues.
