Call for Nominations: Outstanding Alumni Award of PolyU Faculty of Business 2025

Faculty of Business (FB) is now inviting nominations for its Outstanding Alumni Award.

The Outstanding Alumni Award of PolyU Faculty of Business recognises distinguished FB graduates for great distinction in their respective areas, dedicated support to their alma mater, as well as their impactful contributions to the wider community.

The Outstanding Alumni Award of PolyU Faculty of Business (Faculty Award) is part of the Outstanding PolyU Alumni Award. The selection of the Faculty Award will be conducted independently from that of the University Award. Please see here for details.

Eligibility

The nominated candidate for the Faculty Award must be a graduate who has successfully completed a programme offered by FB.

The following people can act as a proposer:

• PolyU graduates
• PolyU Honorary Graduates
• PolyU University Fellows
• PolyU staff
• Current PolyU Council and Court members
• Current PolyU Advisory Committee members.

Please note:

1. There is no limit to the number of nominations that each proposer can submit. However, the proposer cannot be the candidate himself/herself.
2. FB reserves the right to make a final decision on any individual’s eligibility for the award. In case of any dispute/disagreement, the decision of FB shall be final.

Selection Criteria

The selection of the Award considers two criteria:

1. Support and Contribution to PolyU: This key criterion considers nominee’s support and contribution to PolyU, including his/her leadership and/or support in University event and/or alumni activities, support in advisory committee, teaching, research, or student development, as well as support rendered to PolyU initiatives including financial / in-kind donation, or sponsorship.
2. Achievement Areas: Three achievement areas serve as a framework for assessing nominee’s achievements in the concerned areas. They include Professional Achievement, Entrepreneurial Achievement, and Scholarly Achievement. Nominations must be made in ONE of the three achievement areas. Details are as follows:
   
   

   Achievement Areas	Description
   Professional Achievement	This achievement area recognises alumni who have attained distinguished achievements, demonstrated exemplary leadership, and made a strong impact on their profession / industry / society.
   Entrepreneurial Achievement	This achievement area recognizes alumni who have demonstrated outstanding innovation and entrepreneurship, as well as founded or advanced business or technology ventures with impact.
   Scholarly Achievement	This achievement area recognises alumni scholars who have made notable scholarly or research contributions in their disciplines, with proven track record and excellent reputation in the field.

   
   Candidates who are aged at/under 40 in the Award selection year would be eligible for the Outstanding Young Alumni Award.

Notes: The bestowal of the Award shall subject to the individual merits of candidates. No Award shall be given out in a certain category if no suitable candidate is identified.

Selection Committee

The Selection Committee, comprising both internal and external members, will examine the nominations and assess candidates' qualifications and performance for the Award. The composition of the Selection Committee of FB is as follows:

Confidentiality

All information submitted on the nomination form will be kept strictly confidential and will only be used by PolyU and the Selection Committee for the purpose of the selection process. The candidate will not be contacted by FB until he/she is selected as the awardee of the Outstanding Alumni Award of PolyU Faculty of Business.
