Brief Biosketch

Dr J.Z. Ren is an expert in Engineering Operations Management, and he worked at the University of Southern Denmark (Denmark) prior to joining PolyU. He received his B. Eng. and M. Eng. degrees in Chemical Engineering from Chongqing University (CQU). He received a Ph.D degree in Industrial Engineering in Mar. 2015 from University of Padua, Italy. He joined the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University as an Assistant Professor in 2017.

His research focuses on Engineering Operations Research for energy, environment management, and logistics engineering. He has also authored or co-authored more than 60 papers in leading refereed journals, and many of his papers have been selected as the ESI top 1% highly cited papers or identified and highlighted as Key Scientific Articles contributing to excellence in Energy research. He was interviewed by the most widely read newspaper in Denmark, Jyllands-Posten, in a column focusing on famous names in Denmark, and was also featured in the Ny Viden magazine.
