IHERD is actively expanding its global partnership networks, leveraging its expertise to drive educational innovation and advance an AI-empowered, student-centred and personalised model of teaching and learning under the Education 4.0 initiative. To advance this mission, Professor CAO Jiannong, Vice President (Education) and Director of IHERD, alongside Dr Kelly CHAN, Associate Director of IHERD and Head of the Digital Transformation Division, recently visited the Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) in Beijing, China. The IHERD representatives met with a delegation from BIT for an in-depth discussion on synergies and collaboration opportunities between the two institutions in AI and innovation.
BIT is one of the 16 founding member of the International Consortium for Higher Education Transformation and Innovation with AI (ICHETI), initiated by PolyU. Established on 3 July 2026, ICHETI is a strategic alliance of the world-leading universities from across the globe at the forefront of educational innovation. Dedicated to sharing best practices and co-developing new technologies, the consortium drives the paradigm shift toward a next-generation model of teaching and learning. IHERD serves as the official secretariat for the consortium.
During the visit, the IHERD delegation also toured BIT’s advanced facilities to further explore concrete opportunities for technological and institutional collaboration.
