Summary
Abstract
Contemporary AI is essentially data intelligence, is actually Automation of Intelligence powered by data. From the development of computers and AI, it could be concluded that computers are the premise for the Internet, and the Internet has made people recognize the importance of data. Big data emphasizes the significance of data, while data intelligence highlights the value of data. With the Internet, the relationship between informatization and digitalization has been recognized: informatization is the foundation of digitalization, and digitalization is the ultimate goal of informatization. Data is to digitalization what electricity is to electrification, i.e., Data is Power. The goal of education digital transformation is to achieve smart education. Data empowering and technology boosting are the fundamental pathways, and from “Internet+” to “AI+” is an effective exploration.

ZHOU Aoying, professor at East China Normal University (ECNU), founding dean of School of Data Science and Engineering (DaSE). He is China Computer Federation (CCF) Fellow and the Chair of the CCF Technical Committee on Databases, and the Associate Editor-in-Chief of Chinese Journal of Computer. He is the Chairman of Shanghai Computer Society. He was the Chair of the Department of Computer Science, Fudan University (1999-2002), the Vice President of East China Normal University (2016-2023). His research interests lie in Databases, Data Management, Blockchain, Digital Transformation, FinTech, and EduTech.
