Dr James Fang Named One of the Six Pew Marine Fellows Worldwide

Dr James Kar-Hei Fang, Associate Professor in the Department of Food Science and Nutrition, has been selected as one of the six global recipients for the 2024 Pew Fellowship in Marine Conservation. Dr Fang is the sole recipient from the entire East Asia region this year. The Pew Marine Fellows are selected by an international expert committee of marine science through a rigorous nomination and review process. Each recipient of the Pew Fellowship in Marine Conservation is granted US$150,000 over three years to pursue a research project dedicated to marine conservation. Dr. Fang’s research focuses on restoring pearl oyster reefs in order to promote marine environmental health, biodiversity and seafood sustainability in Hong Kong. 方家熙博士被任命為全球六名皮尤海洋學者之一

食品科學及營養學系副教授方家熙博士獲選為2024年度皮尤海洋保育研究基金的全球六位獲獎者之一,而方博士更是本年度整個東亞地區的唯一獲獎者。皮尤海洋學者是由國際海洋科學專家委員會透過嚴謹的提名和審查程序中選出。皮尤海洋保育研究基金向每位獲獎者提供三年共15萬美元資助,開展海洋保育導向的研究項目。方博士的研究主題是透過重建珍珠貝礁促進香港的海洋環境健康、生物多樣性和海洋食品可持續性。請點擊了解更多有關信息: https://shorturl.at/jlGX3
