We have published more than 50 works in a short time period and received more than thousands of citations according to Google Scholar. We are the first team (or among the several teams) to estimate key epidemiological parameters of the COVID-19, including the basic reproductive number, the serial time and the generation time, and the dispersion in individual reproductive number, the relative transmissibility of the asymptomatic COVID-19 cases. Our early estimates were later supported by other teams. Early accurate estimation of key parameters is essential for mitigation and assessment. We propose a conceptual mathematical model for the spread of the COVID-19 and highlight the impact of enhanced testing efforts over time.  We propose a framework to estimate the serial time with the consideration of the impact of control measure.
