Biography

Dr Ding is now a Research Assistant Professor of the Department of Applied Mathematics at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She received B.S. in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics from The Tsinghua University and Ph.D. in Business Statistics from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Courses which Dr Ding taught at HKUST include Business Statistics at undergraduate level. She currently teaches Econometrics at PolyU. Dr Ding’s research interests include Financial Econometrics, Fintech and High-dimensional Statistics. Her research work has been published or accepted at the Journal of Econometrics. She has been invited to present at major academic conferences at Hong Kong, Taiwan and Mainland China. Dr Ding receives General Research Fund (GRF) from the Hong Kong Research Grants Council. Her current projects include high-dimensional volatility modeling, statistical learning in individualized in wealth allocation, high-dimensional portfolio optimization and risk management.
