On behalf of Lingnan University, I would like to convey my heartiest congratulations to The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) on its 80th anniversary.
With 80 years of spectacular growth, PolyU has become one of the leading universities in the region, renowned for its academic excellence and innovative application-oriented research, as well as its accomplishments in nurturing professionals to meet the needs of Hong Kong and the region. Over the years, its graduates have made substantial contributions to the industrial and technological development of Hong Kong that truly exemplify the University’s motto of “To learn and to apply, for the benefit of mankind.”
In view of the complex issues the world is facing today, the University’s research approach and problem-solving pedagogy will be increasingly important in addressing the world’s greatest challenges. The passion, creativity and innovation of the University’s faculty, students and alumni will no doubt bring new discoveries and breakthroughs to the world.
On this auspicious occasion, I would like to express my best wishes to PolyU for its continued success, and look forward to a closer collaboration between the University and Lingnan in the years to come.
