Prof. Tsoi Ah-chung is a pioneering scholar in the field of artificial neural networks. His research work assisted the development of artificial intelligence applications, including speech processing, image processing, facial recognition, pattern detection in large databases and document comprehension. Prof. Tsoi not only penned over 60 journal publications, six book chapters and more than 100 conference papers, but also holds a patent in the area of speech verification. His high academic standing has seen him take up many roles on professional bodies, such as Deputy Chairman of the Committee for International and National Collaborations of the Australian Research Council, and Chairman of the Technical Expert Group, DEETYA High Performance Computing National Centre of Excellence Scheme.
