Why join the Residential Camp?

Experience PolyU from the inside. The signature Residential Camp is designed for secondary school students who want a real taste of university life and academic exploration.

When Does the Camp Take Place?

Camp Period: 27 - 31 July 2026 (Monday - Friday)

Duration: 5 days, 4 nights

Participants are required to stay in the Student Halls of Residence for the full duration of the camp.

Accommodation & Meals

Participants will stay at the:
Student Halls of Residence (Hung Hom)

Students of the same gender will be assigned to the same room. No single rooms will be provided. Roommates will be other participants of the Summer Institute, giving you the opportunity to make new friends and build connections.

All meals during the Residential Camp are included, from Day 1 check‑in to Day 5 check‑out. Special dietary needs can be indicated in the application form; reasonable arrangements will be made where possible.

Programme at a Glance

The Residential Camp combines academic exploration, campus life, and social activities. Below is an overview of the five days.

Day 1 – Arrival, Orientation & Campus Exploration

Activities include registration and check‑in at Hung Hom Student Halls, ice‑breaking activities, and evening group activities led by PolyU student leaders.

 

Day 2 & Day 4 – Faculty & School Attachment

You will join day‑long attachment activities organised by PolyU’s Faculties and Schools. Click the links below to learn more about their respective programmes:

Starting times and detailed arrangements vary by Faculty/School. Participants will receive a separate rundown from the respective units.

A Closing Dinner will be held on the evening of Day 4 to celebrate the end of the residential experience.

 

Day 3 – Signature Lectures & Company Visits

In the morning, students will attend PolyU signature lectures covering cutting‑edge topics (such as entrepreneurial mindset and AI fundamentals and applications). The afternoon is dedicated to visiting local companies or organisations related to PolyU disciplines, where you will gain insights into industry trends, workplace expectations, and career opportunities.

Day 5 – Closing Activities & Check-out

The final day focuses on future studies, featuring Admissions Talks to prepare students for their university application journey. This is followed by a closing activity and hall check‑out by noon.

What Will You Gain?

A certificate of attendance will be awarded to participants who complete the full 5-day, 4-night residential programme.
