In light of the novel coronavirus epidemic, the services of the PolyU Optometry Clinic on Hunghom campus, the Integrative Community Health Center in Lai King and the Sik Sik Yuen – PolyU Optometry Centre (Wong Tai Sin Teaching and Learning Centre) will be suspended from 24 February to 1 March. In light of the novel coronavirus epidemic, PolyU today (28 January 2020) announced the special work arrangement from tomorrow (29 January) to 2 February in order to reduce the spread of novel coronavirus in the community. Therefore, the services of the PolyU Optometry Clinic on Hunghom campus, the Integrative Community Health Center in Lai King and the Sik Sik Yuen – PolyU Optometry Centre (Wong Tai Sin Teaching and Learning Centre) will be suspended from 29 January to 2 February. Special Notice to Patients of PolyU Optometry Clinic

PolyU has earlier announced that all the results for several major chemical components in tear gas residue are below the applicable reference levels of international organisations. The Optometry Clinic has also completed a thorough cleanup. The Clinic will resume services on 15 January 2020 (Wednesday). Patients are requested to access the Clinic through PolyU’s main entrance (near the fountain square/Cheong Wan Road) (please see images below). The Optometry Clinic Web Booking System (https://ocwb.polyu.edu.hk) is now available for making appointments on 15 January (Wednesday) and onwards for “Comprehensive Eye Examination” appointments for persons aged 5 or above. The 17th Hong Kong International Optometric Symposium

The 17th Hong Kong International Optometric Symposium (HKIOS), attracting over 540 attendees, was successfully held on 7 November 2019 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, with the theme “Advancements in Optometric Specialties”. Jointly organized by the School of Optometry, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), and the Hong Kong Optometric Association (HKOA), the HKIOS was certified by the Council on Optometric Practitioner Education (COPE) for the first time this year. During the conference, 6 distinguished speakers from the USA, New Zealand, Malaysia, the mainland China and Hong Kong shared their insights in research and practise insights with the participants.
