Project Title
Brain-Computer Interface-Assisted Neurofeedback for Visual Function Enhancement

 

Synopsis

Impaired or suboptimal visual function has become a widespread concern globally, with significant impacts on daily activities and long-term well-being, particularly in younger populations. Current approaches to address such issues primarily focus on traditional corrective or pharmaceutical methods, while the potential of leveraging neurophysiological signals and brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) for modulating visual-related neural processes remains under-explored. Electroencephalography (EEG), as a non-invasive tool capable of capturing real-time cortical activity, provides a promising way to investigate the neural mechanisms underlying visual processing and regulation.
This project aims to investigate the potential of integrating BCI technology with neurofeedback paradigms. The research focuses on developing a non-invasive system designed to monitor, interpret, and modulate neural activity patterns associated with various visual states and functions. The project will evaluate the technical feasibility and preliminary performance of this integrated approach under controlled experimental conditions. Outcomes are expected to provide foundational insights into neuroadaptive strategies for visual function and support.
