Dr Daphne CHEUNG's project received the Hong Kong ICT Awards 2022: Smart People (Smart Ageing) Silver Award

A project led by Dr Daphne CHEUNG, titled ‘A Stand-alone Therapeutic Music-with-Movement Programme for Elderly with Cognitive Impairment’ received the Hong Kong ICT Awards 2022: Smart People (Smart Ageing) Silver Award. This is the School’s third team awarded the Hong Kong ICT Award. Members of the research team include: Dr Lily HO, Dr Harry QIN, Mr Robin KWOK. External members: Prof. Ken HO, CUHK; Advisors: Prof. Claudia LAI, Ir Dr Alan LAM (industrial advisor). The judges commented that: The programme is user-friendly and a good way to assess the participant's responses in the games. It engage people with dementia in music and games to help them improve their emotions, behaviours and cognitive decline.

SN teams won PolyU President’s Awards for Outstanding Achievement

The PolyU President’s Awards for Outstanding Achievement 2022 (Services) was given to Prof. Alex MOLASIOTIS (Team Leader), Prof. E Angela CHAN, Mr Edmond TONG, Mr Timothy LAI and Ms Frankie CHEUNG, in recognition of the School’s effort in fighting against the COVID-19 pandemic and establishing HK’s first-ever school of nursing’s operated pop-up community vaccination centre. The team also received the Faculty Award in Services (Team) earlier in recognition of the School’s outstanding community services during the fifth-wave of the COVID-19 outbreak. The School’s Internationalisation-at-Home team (IaH), led by Prof. E Angela CHAN, have been selected to receive the Faculty Award (team award) in Teaching in recognition of their outstanding achievement in 2021. Members of the team includes Dr Arkers WONG, Dr Betty CHUNG, and Mr Timothy LAI.

In the list released by Stanford University recently, 11 scholars from PolyU School of Nursing had been ranked among the World’s Most-cited Scientists 2021.
