Prof Mimi Li attended the Tourism Tribune China Tourism Research Annual Conference 2025 in Xian, China, from 23 to 26 October 2025.
Prof Honggen Xiao presented a co-authored paper titled "Communities of Learning and Practice in Hospitality and Tourism (HT): The Role of Education and Research" and participated in the "Special session: Meet the Editors" at the 44th ISTTE Annual Conference in Edinburgh, Scotland, UK, from 22 to 24 October 2025.
Prof Richard Qiu and Prof Yitong Yu attended the WTTC Global Summit 2025 in Rome, Italy, from 28 to 30 September 2025, for the launch of their collaborative project with WTTC titled "The Future of Work in Travel and Tourism: The Key Trends Shaping Workforce Strategies".
Prof Haiyan Song and Prof Sam Kim attended the 10th Advances in Tourism Marketing Conference in Crete, Greece, from 24 to 26 September 2025. Prof Song moderated the parallel session "Revolutionizing Tourism Marketing: The Transformative Power of Generative AI" and presented a co-authored paper titled "Transforming Tourist Attractions with Emerging Technologies: Visitor Preferences and Future Trends". Prof Kim presented two co-authored papers titled "Negative Effects of Advances in New Smart Technologies on Tourists' Individual Travel" and "Validated Scale Development for Restaurant Robot Service Consumption Values (RRSCVs) and Their Effects on Attitude, Satisfaction and Further Outcomes".
Prof Honggen Xiao delivered a keynote speech titled "Engaging Industries, Communities and Policies: Tourism Education and Research in the GBA and Beyond" at the GBA and China-ASEAN Tourism Research and Education Forum in Zhuhai, China, from 18 to 20 September 2025.
Prof Mimi Li moderated the roundtable session "Moving in Sync with Chinese Tourism Geography: The Academic Portrait of the Tiger" at the Annual Conference of the Tourism Geography Commission of the Geographical Society of China in Qingdao, China, from 12 to 14 September 2025.
Prof Gianluca Goffi attended the SIM Conference 2025 in Naples, Italy, from 10 to 12 September 2025.
Prof Cathy Hsu delivered an online presentation titled "Providing Elder-Centric Services for Senior Air Travelers" at the Inaugural Global Initiative for the Safeguarding and Development of the Agency and Dignity of Older Persons in Air Travel Symposium on 22 August 2025.
Prof Richard Qiu, Prof Yitong Yu, Dr Curley Liu, and Dr Hanyuan Zhang attended the 2nd International Forum of Quantitative Tourism Research in Hangzhou, China, from 9 to 13 August 2025. Prof Qiu presented a paper titled "Influence of Social Reference on Consumers' Choices". Dr Liu presented a paper titled "Strategies for Tourism Recovery: Insights from Hong Kong".
Prof Haiyan Song, Prof Cathy Hsu, Prof Billy Bai, Prof Mimi Li, Prof Dan Wang, and Prof Honggen Xiao attended the 5th International Association for China Tourism Studies (IACTS) Biennial Conference in Hong Kong from 4 to 7 August 2025. Prof Song gave a presentation titled "Is Tourism Research in Crisis?" and moderated the Newly Elected Outstanding Young Scholar (OYS) Presentations. Prof Hsu participated in Panel Discussion 1 on "Tourism Research in the Era of AI", moderated by Prof Xiao. Prof Bai participated in Panel Discussion 2 on "Tourism Research in the Era of AI". Prof Li moderated the Fellow & Outstanding Young Scholar (OYS) Presentations. Prof Wang presented on "Information Technology and Organization Imbrications in Hotel Industry".
