SHTM Successfully Hosts Inaugural International Conference on Wine Market and Cultures of Consumption
Hosted by the SHTM in collaboration with the UNESCO Chair at the University of Burgundy, the first-ever International Conference on Wine Market and Cultures of Consumption was successfully held on 2-5 June 2019 at Hotel ICON, Hong Kong.

Since the elimination of the wine import tax in 2008, Hong Kong has become a major hub for the world wine market. The Chinese mainland, currently a centre of exponential development in fine wine transactions and purchases, has become the essential focal point for the continent's premium wine trading and consumption.
Intensive Learning at the CHE Workshop

Dr Fred Mayo visited the School again on 9-12 July this year to deliver a Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE) Workshop on behalf of the SHTM and the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute.
Inaugural China Tourism Forum 2019 – USA

Co-organised by the SHTM and the School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management at Temple University, the inaugural China Tourism Forum 2019 – USA was held successfully on 21-22 July in Philadelphia, USA.
MicroMasters in International Hospitality Management – Autumn Run

The SHTM's MicroMasters in International Hospitality Management (MM), a unique and highly successful Master's level programme on the world-renowned edX online learning platform, offers a new way of nurturing talent for the dynamic global hospitality industry. Learning takes place through a blend of strategic perspectives and pragmatic implementation, problem identification and decision-making supported by interdisciplinary theory and management application.
2019 Hong Kong PolyU Winter School®


The Hong Kong PolyU Winter School® is the SHTM's flagship Executive Development Programme. Staged each year to allow senior industry executives to interact with leading educators and practitioners in the field of hospitality, the programme is co-organised by the SHTM, the Hong Kong Hotels Association and the Institute for Entrepreneurship at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. This year, it will be held at the School's premises from 1 to 14 December 2019.
ACHIEVEMENTS AND RECOGNITION

The SHTM is ranked No. 1 in the Hospitality and Tourism Management category of ShanghaiRanking's Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2019, the third year in a row it has achieved that feat.
