Professor Brian King, Mr Raymond Kwong and Ms Tiffany Cheng attended the Shaping Up for SL 2.0: International Service-Learning 2018 at PolyU on 10 October.
Professor Brian King and Dr Markus Schuckert attended the World Travel & Tourism Council Asia Leaders Forum 2018 in Macau on 22 October.
Professor Brian King and D.HTM graduate Dr Benson Tang attended the Global Tourism Economy Forum 2018 on 23-24 October.
Dr Kam Hung presented a paper entitled "Chinese Travelers' Preferences for Cruising Attributes" at the 13th China Cruise Shipping Conference International Cruise Expo in Shenzhen, China on 1-3 November 2018.
Dr Norman Au and HFTP HK SHTM Student Chapter committee members attended the annual dinner of Hotel Controllers & Accountants Association of Hong Kong at the Royal Plaza Hotel on 6 November 2018.
Professor Kaye Chon delivered a special lecture on "The China Factor in International Tourism" at Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola in Lima, Peru on 7 November 2018. And Professor Chon attended the International Advisory Board meeting of Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola on 9 November.
Dr Karin Weber attended the 2018 PCMA Incentive Conference & Event Society Asia Pacific Annual Conference in Bangkok, Thailand on 7-9 November. The major regional conference of the Professional Convention Management Association for which she serves on the Faculty Taskforce. Dr Weber has also been invited to join Meeting Professional International's (MPI's) Women's Advisory Board.
Ph.D. student Ms Serene Tse presented a co-authored paper entitled "Reducing Tourist Stereotype: A Prospective Intervention" at the EuroCHRIE 2018 in Dublin, Ireland on 7-9 November.
Dr Mimi Li presented a paper entitled "Patterns and Dynamics of Executive-interpreter Networks in Design-driven Innovation Processes: Boutique Hotels in China" at the 2018 Tourist Behavior Research Conference in Xiamen, China on 9-11 November.
Professor Kaye Chon hosted the Hong Kong PolyU Open Forum: Hospitality and Tourism Education & Your Future in the Global Industry Landscape in Bangkok, Thailand on 13 November 2018.
Professor Cathy Hsu and Dr Markus Schuckert attended the 2018 edX Global Forum in Boston, USA on 15-16 November. Professor Hsu spoke on a parallel session "MicroMasters Programs, Two Years On". Dr Schuckert participated in industry meetings.
Professor Cathy Hsu conducted a research seminar on resident sentiment and a workshop on career development; discussed research collaboration ideas with various researchers; and shared MicroMasters development and trends at the Wakayama University in Japan on 27 November 2018.
Professor Kaye Chon gave a speech on "Tourism Education in China in the Context of Changing Environment" at the Forum on Tourism and Hospitality Education in the Greater Bay Area in Macau on 28 November 2018.

Professor Kaye Chon delivered a mini lecture entitled "Global Hospitality & Tourism Industry and Your Future" in Macau on 29 November 2018.
Dr Pearl Lin and PhD student Ms Vicky Leung attended the International Conference on Tourism and Retail Management 2018 in Macau on 3-4 December. Dr Lin and Ms Leung presented a paper entitled "Millennial Hotel Employees' Commitments on Job Satisfaction and Turnover Intention".
Professor Haiyan Song delivered a keynote on the title "Analysing China Outbound Tourism Demand within the Asia Pacific" at New Zealand International Conference on Contemporary China "China's New Tourists: New Zealand and the Year of Chinese Tourism" in New Zealand on 4 December 2018.
Dr Barry Mak attended the Air Transport Colloquium 2018 in Antwerp, Belgium on 6 December.
Professor Kaye Chon delivered a speech on "Innovative Approaches to Develop Sustainable Chinese Tourism in Europe" at the High Level Academic Conference on EU-China Tourism: Challenges and Opportunities for Chinese Tourism in European Heritage Cities in Paris, France on 6 December 2018.
