First-ever MicroMasters in International Hospitality Management Continues
Launched in January 2017, the SHTM's MicroMasters in International Hospitality Management programme is a fresh approach to bridging the knowledge gap between higher education and the workplace. Featuring four courses and offered on the edX platform, this innovative online programme is a credit bearing, accelerated Master's level offering that can stand alone or count towards entry to a traditional SHTM Master's degree. It has already attracted more than 21,000 learners from close to 170 countries.

Led by Dr Tony Tse, the third course, Managing Marketing in the Hospitality and Tourism Industry, will be launched on 9 June. Scheduled to be launched on 5 September, the fourth course entitled Managing Human Resources in the Hospitality and Tourism Industry will be led by Dr Alice Hon. The courses have featured distinguished guest speakers including Mr Philip Schaetz, Vice President, Sales and Marketing of Marco Polo Hotels and Professor Bruce Tracey from Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration.

Responding to popular demand, the School will relaunch the first course - International Hospitality Luxury Management - on 26 July. This will provide another opportunity for those who were eager to join the course last time but were unable to.

One of the highlights of our MicroMasters programme is the live sessions conducted by leading scholars and seasoned industry executives from around the world. Hospitality and Tourism Technology and Innovation, the second course of the programme launched on 7 March, featured a live session conducted by Ms Sarah Kennedy Ellis, Vice President, Global Marketing, at Sabre Hospitality Solutions who discussed the impact of information technology on tourism product distribution, marketing and customer services.

Participants who successfully complete all four courses and earn the MicroMasters credential will be eligible to apply to join the SHTM's Master of Science in International Hospitality Management programme: www.polyu.edu.hk/htm/msc/ihm
